Upon Completion of your IL 28-hour Armed Certification Course

Once you have completed all the training modules, you’re not done yet. There are a few more steps before you may begin working as an armed security officer in Illinois.

Next Steps After Completing All Training Modules

  • Contact us to request official training certificate.
  • Make a backup of your certificate.
  • Provide the certificate to your employer.
  • Apply for your FCC with your employer.

You must contact us so that we can issue you your genuine Illinois armed training certificate of completion. This certificate will arrive both by email and US Postal after you contact us. This certificate will not be sent until you request it from us.

We recommend making copies, including digital copies or your Illinois certificate of completion so you do not lose it.

Provide this certificate to your employer. Both current and future employers may ask to see proof of training. That’s why you should save copies.

Do NOT begin working armed until your employer issues you a Firearm Control Card issued by the State of Illinois. Some security employers may ask you to work armed while waiting for the FCC to be approved. If you work armed without a FCC, you are in violation of Illinois law.
